Call for Papers: Learning to Speak: Creative Practice Research in Transition
The International Journal of Creative Media Research is inviting proposals for a forthcoming special issue, Learning to Speak: Creative Practice Research in Transition, scheduled for publication in October 2027. The issue asks how creative practice research is named, legitimised, supported, evaluated and contested across different cultural, institutional and regional contexts. We are especially interested in work that explores how creative practice research is developing between languages, disciplines, institutions, communities and publication forms.
The special issue welcomes a wide range of formats, including written articles, practice research portfolios, single-piece explorations, podcasts, interviews, video essays, co-practice research exchanges and other forms supported by IJCMR.
Abstracts of up to 250 words should be submitted by 1 October 2026. Contributors should also include names, contact details, affiliations, a 150-word biography for each contributor, and a short note on the intended format of the submission.
